Vinyl Cutting 101

Inkscape 101
Knox Makers 116 Childress St SW, Knoxville, TN, United StatesInkscape is a free and open sourced vector graphics editor. It is the primary software used to interface with Knox Makers' laser cutter, CNC router, and vinyl cutters. This class will teach basics of drawing and arranging shapes, talk about vectors and paths, and give a general overview of Inkscape and its capabilities.
Woodworking 101

At the completion of this course, you will be authorized to use the all equipment (except for the grizzly lathe) without supervision.
Blender 101: Overview and Direct Modeling

2019 Knox Makers Spook Show
Knox Makers 116 Childress St SW, Knoxville, TN, United StatesJoin us, if you dare, for the annual Knox Makers Halloween Spook Show! We'll watch a series of short subjects followed by a horror film, stuffing ourselves silly with pizza, drinks, and treats the whole while!

Knife Sharpening 101

All you need to bring is a pocket knife, small sheath knife or a kitchen paring knife. (SAVE YOUR RAMBO KNIFE FOR ANOTHER TIME). You should walk away with a basic understanding of sharpening small blades and a sharp knife at the end of this class.

Knox Makers is a place for the Knoxville area’s engineers, artists, hobbyists, innovators, educators and entrepreneurs to work and play. We are a technology and art collective dedicated to the promotion of creativity enabled and informed by science. Our lectures, workshops, and outreach programs inspire and educate both members and the general public. Our workshop provides members with both the space for large projects and the tools to complete them. We are a non-profit educational organization supported by member dues and staffed by volunteers.
Going from Schematics to Breadboards
Knox Makers 116 Childress St SW, Knoxville, TN, United StatesIn this class Ray will lead you step by step through reading a schematic and translating it into a prototype on a solderless breadboard. Each attendee will build a circuit using an integrated circuit, resistors, capacitors and diodes to take home and show off to friends!

DEFCON 27: OpSec
Knox Makers 116 Childress St SW, Knoxville, TN, United StatesDEFCON Groups (DCGs) are locally run branches of the annual event known as DEFCON. Each year, thousands of hackers descend upon Las Vegas (over 22,000 in 2016). This annual migration of the worlds top digital talent brings more with it than just the scent of unwashed pits.
