Knox Makers – Woodworking

This class will cover topics related to safe and correct operation of equipment within the woodworking area. This is the authorization class for the area and is required prior to using the equipment. Safe practices will be demonstrated and learned by a hands on approach in the context of taking rough lumber through the process of milling and operation of all equipment in the space. We will turn rough sawn ash into a table ready lazy susan with beautiful inlays. Skills taught will include proper milling technique, panel construction, router and router jig use, inlay techniques, hand plane use and card scraper use.

Directions- Knox Makers parking and entrance is located around the back of the SPARK building in the fenced in area.

Will cover safe and best practices and use of all the equipment in the wood shop area with the exception of the lathe. Members will receive authorization for the wood shop. This class is required for members to use equipment in the wood shop area.
