Welding 101
Welding 101
Intro to Welding.
This is the Basic startup class for using the Mig Welding in the Metal Area.
We will spend 30 minutes on basic safety and area requirements.
Then expect an hour of hands on setup and shared MIG welding time
I’m going to limit the number of students to 5 , so each person get enough hands on time to be able to feel comfortable using the MIG welder
Students should bring their own shield and gloves, if they have them. But they are not required, as we have setups available to use.
Please do NOT bring your own welding equipment to use, the setup and testing time could impact other students.
Machining 100 – Intro To Machining
Machining 100 – Intro To Machining
Billy will give you a basic introduction to the machining area. This class will begin with a tour of the machining area with a, in-depth discussion of each tool, it’s uses, proper procedures, and safety. At the end of this class, all participating members will be authorized to use the drill press, box pan brake, handtools, and the horizontal bandsaw. **This is a prerequisite for the Bridgeport Mill and Lathe tool authorization classes**
There will be a fee for this class of $9.96 for current Knox Makers members. There will be a maximum of 8 spots for this class, and a minimum of 3 tickets must be sold. If the class minimum is not met 48 hours prior to class start time, the class will be canceled and all tickets will be refunded.
Project Lathe: Workday
Project Lathe: Workday
Come help clean, tune and get the new 13x40 MSC lathe up and running. We purchased a new to us lathe which requires a little maintenance before it's ready to use. This is a good opportunity to see the insides of a lathe and learn a bit more about them.
