3D Printing Slicers are willful and disobedient piles of spaghetti code that often provide unusable piles of spaghetti filament. A slicer has yet to be written that does everything well. This class will cover how to get your slicer to do what you need it to do for a variety of common printing situations as well as which slicers do certain things better than others.

Topics will include:
Custom supports
Model and layer specific settings
Post processing scripts
Manual gcode editing

This class assumes you have some working knowledge of slicing software but all are welcome to attend.

Knox Makers is a place for the Knoxville area’s engineers, artists, hobbyists, innovators, educators and entrepreneurs to work and play. We are a technology and art collective dedicated to the promotion of creativity enabled and informed by science. Our lectures, workshops, and outreach programs inspire and educate both members and the general public. Our workshop provides members with both the space for large projects and the tools to complete them. We are a non-profit educational organization supported by member dues and staffed by volunteers.
