KILLSWITCH is the Knox Makers robot fighting competition scheduled for October 14th, 2017. To keep this competition interesting, our robotic gladiators will need a sufficiently lethal arena to fight in. This night will be dedicated to discussing the design for the KILLSWITCH trailer-mounted thunderdome. This arena will consist of four hazards, and we will need people to volunteer to help out each hazard team to finalize the design and building of the hazards. Additionally, this will be the kickoff for the building of the arena, with a number of build nights in the future to pull the arena together before the competition this fall.

If you are on the fence when it comes to building a robot, this is a chance for you to be involved in the robot killing action, even if you choose not to build your own. There will also be many opportunities to learn about welding, grinding, cutting, and other metal working skills during this process. Other skills we will exercise includes pneumatic work with electronics and controls design. Come find out how you can help build red hot robotic death!

Like all other Tuesday nights, this event is free and open to the public. Our night will begin with a Show and Share where attendees are encouraged to bring out the projects they have been working on. This is a great time to request feedback for the future direction of your project, or you can just bring out something you want to show off. We hope to see you there!

We are a technology and art collective dedicated to the promotion of creativity enabled and informed by science. Our lectures, workshops, and outreach programs inspire and educate both members and the general public. Our workshop provides members with both the space for large projects and the tools to complete them. We are a non-profit educational organization supported by member dues and staffed by volunteers.
