KILLSWITCH is the Knox Makers robot fighting competition scheduled for October 14th, 2017. To keep this competition interesting, our robotic gladiators will need a sufficiently lethal arena to fight in. We are ready to move into the construction phase.

There will be opportunities for cutting, welding, grinding, painting, wiring, and more! This will be our biggest construction project to date. If you’re interested in building some part of the red hot robotic death, then you should keep an eye on the calendar for more construction events.

Today’s event will focus on continuing the framing portion of arena construction. We will be cutting steel and welding the frame onto the trailer, and there will probably be lots of opportunities to start painting up the frame. Derek at Bird on the Wire Studios has generously allowed us to use his work shop to really move quickly for construction. It will be a great opportunity to see a production metal shop, as well as get a chance to do a lot of metal work.
