Electronic Textiles Workshop
Attendees of this class will learn how to stitch LED circuits using conductive thread, instead of wire and solder, to create wearable technology. This class will cover the stitching of one basic circuit with LED, battery, and switch onto fabric.
There is a class fee of $40 for the general public and $35 for Knox Makers members. Students are encouraged to bring their own supplies including scissors, a personal sewing kit, and fabric to be embellished with the wearable technology. However, kits will also be made available for $10. There will be a 12 person maximum for this class and a 5 person minimum. If the minimum is not met 48 hours prior to class time, the class will be canceled and all tickets will be refunded.
Knox Makers is a place for the Knoxville area’s engineers, artists, hobbyists, innovators, educators and entrepreneurs to work and play. We are a technology and art collective dedicated to the promotion of creativity enabled and informed by science. Our lectures, workshops, and outreach programs inspire and educate both members and the general public. Our workshop provides members with both the space for large projects and the tools to complete them. We are a non-profit educational organization supported by member dues and staffed by volunteers.
