Build a Power Supply for a Solderless Breadboard
Here’s your chance to build a truly useful project! This USB-C or USB-Micro powered PCB interfaces nicely with a standard solderless breadboard, providing 3.3V and/or 5.0V for your prototyping.
We will explain basic soldering concepts for both through-hole and surface mount (SMT) soldering. The SMT components are mostly on the larger side, similar to our prior SMT classes, which were generally easy for attendees to complete.
The project includes a PCB, USB ports, switches, header pins, SMT resistors and capacitors and a SMT linear regulator. We will help you build and debug, you should go home with nice looking and practical additions to both your hardware and skillset toolboxes.
There will be a 4 person minimum. If the class minimum is not reached by midnight the night before, class will be canceled and all tickets will be refunded.
All proceeds go to Knox Makers.
Directions- Knox Makers parking and entrance is located around the back of the SPARK building in the fenced in area.
Knox Makers is a place for the Knoxville area’s engineers, artists, hobbyists, innovators, educators and entrepreneurs to work and play. We are a technology and art collective dedicated to the promotion of creativity enabled and informed by science. Our lectures, workshops, and outreach programs inspire and educate both members and the general public. Our workshop provides members with both the space for large projects and the tools to complete them. We are a non-profit educational organization supported by member dues and staffed by volunteers.
