The Maker’s Guide to Building a Sandwich

sandwich

If you wish to make a roast beef sandwich from scratch, you must first invent the foodiverse!

Sean will present a maker’s take on how to build the perfect sandwich from the ground up by roasting the meat, making the cheese, baking the bread, and creating the toppings from the most basic ingredients. On the surface, the sandwich seems simple, but in reality, it is full of unseen complex chemical and physical processes that turn raw material into a satisfying meal. We will explore the science behind food, cooking, and flavor and show how the task of creating a truly hand-made sandwich can be achieved in your own kitchen.

Like all other Tuesday nights, this event is free and open to the public. Our night will begin with a Show and Share where attendees are encouraged to bring out the projects they have been working on. This is a great time to request feedback for the future direction of your project, or you can just bring out something you want to show off. We hope to see you there!
